Holi

Spring colour, community gatherings and the distinct observances of Holika Dahan and the colour festival.

Two linked observances

Holika Dahan and the celebration with colours are related but distinct. Prahlada and Holika form a well-known devotional narrative associated with the festival; Krishna traditions are especially prominent in parts of northern India. Local customs can extend the celebration beyond a single day.

A considerate celebration

Ask before applying colour, make room for people who prefer to watch, and follow local arrangements for community fires. Exact Holika Dahan and Bhadra-related decisions need specialist rule review. A full-moon label alone cannot determine every local ritual window.

Date and puja timings are awaiting approved festival rules. This guide does not provide an occurrence date. Editorial review pending.
