Pradosh

A Shiva observance associated with Trayodashi and the evening period.

An evening observance

Pradosh worship is associated with Shiva and an evening period around sunset. Households may offer prayer, light a lamp or recite a familiar Shiva text. The name can also reflect the weekday, but a weekday label alone does not establish a valid occurrence.

The local evening matters

A calendar must test the relevant Trayodashi overlap using the chosen local evening definition. Repeated or short tithis need careful treatment. A fixed clock time copied between cities would lose that location basis, so ritual timings remain pending review here.

Date and puja timings are awaiting approved festival rules. This guide does not provide an occurrence date. Editorial review pending.
