Navratri
Nine nights of devotion to Devi, with prayer, music and regionally distinct family practices.
Many ways to honour Devi
Navratri can include recitation, lamps, household worship, dance and community gatherings. Some families observe a particular sequence of Devi forms. Others follow inherited regional traditions. A respectful guide should name the convention rather than present one practice as universal.
Preparation and observance
Choose a manageable prayer routine and keep your worship space simple. Fasting practices vary and are a personal choice. Ghatasthapana, Ashtami and Navami decisions require validated tithi boundaries and the relevant tradition; nine civil dates are not a sufficient rule.
Date and puja timings are awaiting approved festival rules. This guide does not provide an occurrence date. Editorial review pending.
